Mr Gumel said, “We must work tirelessly to prevent electoral violence, investigate electoral offences and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.”
The suspects confessed to the offence and will be charged to court.
The CP said the intervention of the police command secured the state’s historic site.
He explained that adequate security measures had been put in place to guarantee a peaceful atmosphere in and outside the metropolis.
”We are making arrangements to prosecute all those arrested before a competent court of law.”
The police chief said six-year-old Saidu was allegedly killed by a 16-year-old almajiri identified as Abdullahi.
“Mr Gumel assured the people of the command’s readiness to maintain law and order.’’
The commissioner of police, Usaini Gumel, made the call on Monday.
The CP said the street urchins were arrested at some crime-prone identified locations, criminal hideouts and black spots in the metropolis.
