The latest VAT report released by the National Bureau of Statistics provides strong evidence that Nigeria’s tax and economic reforms are beginning to produce measurable results.

Ms Verheijen said the reforms agenda would help the country unlock $10 billion of new investments in deep water oil and gas projects in the near to medium term.
The communique said the total revenue of N2.192 billion was available in the month of April.
“Total revenue of N2.326 trillion was available in the month of February.”
According to him, if this is addressed, it will go a long way to lower the prices of cooking gas for the benefit of Nigerians.
The communiqué said total revenue of N1.48 trillion billion was available in August 2023.
The communiqué stated that the N786.161 billion total distributable revenue comprised statutory revenue of N519.545 billion and Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N251.607 billion.
