IPAC has backed the Lagos House of Assembly for passing the value-added tax (VAT) and anti-open grazing bills.
The state said it supports anything that improves its IGR, and was keen on joining Rivers should FIRS appeal the judgment.
The warning followed some governors’ push to start collecting VAT in their respective states, effectively dismantling the current system of exclusive federal VAT administration.

FIRS said on Sunday that it had appealed a recent judgment of the Rivers division of the Federal High Court regarding Value Added Tax (VAT) collection.
Out of the total amount generated in Q2 2021, N187.43 billion was generated as non-import VAT locally, while N207.69 billion was generated as non-import VAT for foreign.
