Mr Okemini, fired earlier by Mr Nwifuru for gross misconduct, was suspended indefinitely by the university barely six days after his matriculation.
Mr Jatau commended the university’s management for their efforts in developing it and called for its sustenance.
“The halls of residence will be reopened for students from noon on Sept. 20,” he said.
The Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina has announced the death of its registrar, Iliyasu Falalu-Rafindadi, after a protracted illness.
Mr Ibrahim said the donation is in response to the university management’s request for an ambulance and a students’ bus.
LASU’s student union leader, Dolapo Tobun, and other union executives led the protest. Mr Tobun said that the union was not informed about the fee.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited five additional academic programmes at Salem University Lokoja, Kogi.
This was announced in a statement by Emeka Elemike, the director of the Centre for Sustainable Development, on Monday.
“The accreditation is for six postgraduate and 12 undergraduate programmes valid for a period of five years.’’
