The vice-chancellor, Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, disclosed this at LASU’s 27th convocation lecture on Tuesday.
The university management had sealed off the amphitheatre, the venue of the unfortunate incident, until further notice.
Oguzie pledged the corps members’ continuous support to the university.
“Our vision is to become the best university in West Africa, and you, our dear students, are an integral part of that vision.”
He said one must have vision, focus and a clear understanding of what lies ahead of him.
Mr Echono said that projects undertaken with the funds had remarkably impacted on the university mandate.
“You have to go beyond your best to accomplish some of those things.’’
“We are not there yet, but we are moving very fast towards having a better and stronger university,” he said.
