Felix Nicholas has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary to back Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s ambition to be the party’s presidential candidate.
“Looking back now, did I regret what I did in January 1999. Yes, I would say I have some regret.”
Kano has 132 delegates; Kaduna, 69; Katsina, 102; Kebbi, 63; Jigawa, 81; Sokoto, 69, and Zamfara has 42.
When asked if the party had come up with a consensus candidate, Mr Kyari said, “The discussion continues tonight at the house of the party’s national chairman.”
Presidential hopefuls Bola Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have suspended their campaigns to pay a condolence visit to the Owo Catholic Church massacre victims.
Mr Osinbajo and his security aides were joined by other Nigerians to pull the victims from the vehicle, Peoples Gazette learnt.
The APC chieftain said Mr Osinbajo’s entrance into the 2023 presidential race marked a beacon of hope for discipline and selflessness in public service.
Mr Buhari had asked the governors to identify the best prospect for the party’s 2023 flag-bearer.
Mr Odigie-Oyegun noted that the committee, in arriving at its report, strongly considered aspirants’ youthfulness, background and the ability to lead the country forward.
“Osinbajo is a good man. But nice men do not make good leaders… Nice men should be selling popcorn, ice cream.”
