The Accord Party in Osun has said its candidates for state and federal assemblies will emerge through consensus during its primaries scheduled for May 29.
Sixteen opposition political parties in Osun have withdrawn from the local government elections scheduled for February 22, 2025.
“I quite agree with all of you. Failure to appear before the House is an infraction that violates the laws especially as regards MDAs.
The lawmaker also queried why the scheme officer in charge of the land would deny that she was unaware of the demolition.
The Assembly said the commissioner has refused to submit the mid-year budget report for review and appraisal.
The party said while it may not be one of the top parties, it had “what people are yearning for” and can “win the election.”
Mr Victor Akande stressed that the Assembly was committed to ensuring that the state’s anti-corruption commission is given the necessary legal backing.
The lawmakers said the bill came as a result of complaints by Lagosians of law enforcement officers not being properly trained.
Lawmakers argued in favour of the bill, stating that it was long overdue.
