Mr Troost-Ekong said, “I have been sent the official certificate today following the announcement last night.”
Mr Olajire wished the former captain success in his next phase, assuring of the federation’s continued support.
His tally of five goals at the AFCON remains the highest scored by a defender in the history of the competition.
The 35-year-old’s retirement from football came after several weeks of speculation regarding his future with the Nigeria national team.
The names on the list are expected to be trimmed later to 28 players.
The aggrieved players, through Troost-Ekong, had vowed not to end their protest until the NFF settled the unpaid allowances and match bonuses they were owed.
