AFCON 2025: Eric Chelle unveils 54-man provisional Super Eagles squad

The names on the list are expected to be trimmed later to 28 players.

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has released a 54-man provisional team list ahead of the 35th Africa Cup of Nations, billed for Morocco, from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.

The provisional list, shared on all official social media handles of the Super Eagles on Tuesday, had notable names like captain William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Calvin Bassey, Ademola Lookman, and Samuel Chukwueze, amongst others.

The team also included some home-based players, including goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt, Abdulrasheed Shehu, Chisom Orji, Ekeson Okorie, and Adekunle Adeleke.

The names on the list are expected to be trimmed later to 28 players while the team will open their training camp on December 10, in Egypt, where they will play warm-up matches to prepare for their Group C matches against Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda.
