Mr Buru and members of his church joined thousands of Muslims at Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, for the celebration.
The cleric urged religious leaders to continue promoting compassion, understanding and dialogue.
Mr Buru said the campaign would help discourage hoarding and arbitrary price increases.
The cleric called for more collective efforts to achieve lasting peace not only in Kaduna State but across Nigeria.
He said the gesture aims to foster peaceful coexistence, inter-religious tolerance, and a deeper understanding between Muslims and Christians in the country.
A group of Nigerian Muslim scholars, headed by Gambo Barnawa, has commiserated with Christians worldwide over the death of ex-Pope Benedict XVI.
“We are doing this to promote religious tolerance and foster peaceful coexistence among different faith-based organisations in the country,” stated the pastor.
Last year, the number of Muslims that attended the church services outnumbered the number of Christians.
