Taraba Assembly confirms Gov. Kefas’ commissioner-nominees

The Taraba State House of Assembly has cleared Governor Agbu Kefas’ 21 commissioner-nominees for appointment as members of the state’s Executive Council.
Nelson Len, the chairman of the House Committee on Information, addressed the press in Jalingo on Wednesday following the legislature’s plenary.
He announced that all the nominees had successfully passed the rigorous screening process conducted by the house and were cleared for their respective positions.
“Of course, we took our time with each nominee and ended up spending two days on the exercise.
“This is to ensure that we didn’t make mistakes. Taraba State is at a critical stage where we really need a total rebirth, which is why we have to ensure that the right persons are put in the right places,” he said.
Mr Len also assured that the lawmakers would work in harmony with the executives to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
The nominees included Nicholas Oliver, George Peter, Gideon Nonso, Augustina Godwin, Naomi Agbu, and Aishat Adul-Azeez.
Others were Sarah Adi, Joseph Nagombe, Bodia Gbansheya, Zainabu Usman-Jalingo, Yakubu Maikasuwa, Habu James, Julius Peter, Saviour Badzoilig, Philister Ibrahim, Mary Sinjen, Daniel Ishaya, Noseh Luka, Joseph Joshua, Usman Abdullahi, and Yakubu Yakubu.
