Tarauni council reaches 69,820 children in Kano immunisation drive

Tarauni LGA in Kano has announced the successful immunisation of 69,820 children during the April round of the polio vaccination campaign conducted across its 10 wards.
The primary healthcare coordinator in the area, Muktar Datti-Gwarzo, disclosed on Thursday in a statement.
Mr Datti-Gwarzo said that health workers administered more than 75,850 doses of the polio vaccine during the campaign.
He attributed the successes of the exercise to the support and collaboration of health workers, stakeholders, parents and traditional leaders who ensured that eligible children received the vaccine.
Mr Datti-Gwarzo also urged parents to continue cooperating with health workers during immunisation exercises to protect their children against polio and other child killer diseases.
The statement said that the council’s chairman, Ahmed Ibrahim-Sekure, commended health workers for achieving the successes, which he attributed to dedication and professionalism of the health workers.
