TCN announces six-hour power outage in Lokoja, environs

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a six-hour power outage in Lokoja and some surrounding communities in Kogi State on Tuesday.
According to a memo on Tuesday, the General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said the outage would occur from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to enable the TCN maintenance crew to carry out urgent work on the 150MVA TR1 330/132/33kV power transformer at the Lokoja Transmission Substation.
“The exercise is to enable TCN maintenance crew work on 150MVA TR1 330/132/33kV power transformer,” the memo read.
According to the company, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take electricity for onward distribution to its customers in Lokoja Town, CBN, Koton Karfe, Kabba Junction and Faith Academy.
“TCN apologises for any inconvenience the outage may cause electricity consumers in the affected areas,” it said.
The company assured that power supply would be restored immediately after the completion of the work.
