TCN to shut Kukwaba transmission substation for six-hour maintenance
The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a six-hour maintenance exercise at its 132/33kV Kukwaba Transmission Substation in Abuja on Tuesday.
In a statement on Monday, TCN said the exercise would be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
TCN said its maintenance crew would replace a faulty line circuit breaker on its 33kV L36 feeder connected to one of the substation’s 60MVA 132/33kV power transformers.
“Consequently, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to offtake power for onward distribution to its customers in Idu Railway Station, Idu Industrial Zone, CITEC Estate and parts of Life Camp as well as customers connected through Wuye 1&2 Injection Substations,” TCN said.
The company further apologised for the inconvenience this outage will cause electricity consumers in the affected areas.
