The Delta state police command has arrested a male teacher of Royal Children school, Asaba, for allegedly molesting a pupil.

The arrest was made after @myhairven made an Instagram post, accusing the teacher of having repeated carnal knowledge of her 6-year-old niece in the school toilet.

According to the victim’s aunt, her underage niece had sustained severe injuries from the constant molestation.

“She was badly injured and scattered down there,” lamented the victim’s aunt.

“Royal Children school must be shut down, my 6 year old niece was raped repeatedly by a teacher in the school toilet.”

Edafe Bright, Delta state police spokesperson who confirmed the arrest to Peoples Gazette said he was yet to be furnished with the details of the matter.

He said investigations would determine if the suspect would be transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).

Meanwhile, the management, Royal Group of School, has released two official statements to refute the allegation.

The management described the allegation as an attempt “aimed at smearing the good name” of the school.

“Our attention has been drawn to messages circulating online that a teacher of Royal Group of Schools raped a 6 years old child.

“The management of the school has investigated the matter and found it to be false allegation,” the statement partly reads.

“Certain allegations levelled against the school are false and misleading. We therefore implore the general public to ignore such publication.”

“Royal Group of Schools have a proven track record of excellence and success I will not do anything to jeopardize this record.”

The school management also threatened “the full wrath of the law on persons responsible in damaging the school reputation.”
