Team Edo win gold medals in wrestling, cricket, pole vault

Team Edo on Wednesday hauled more gold medals from wrestling, cricket and pole vault events at the 21st National Sports Festival (NSF) in Asaba.
In wrestling, Edo picked the gold medal in the men’s 60kg Greco-Roman category.
Their wrestlers also settled for a silver medal in the men’s 55kg Greco-Roman category and a bronze medal in the men’s 57kg Greco-Roman category.
Similarly, Hope Aruya beat the odds to win a gold medal against a Delta athlete in the pole vault.
Edo replicated the same feat in cricket, beating Delta in the T20 women’s category to secure the most prestigious laurel of the game.
The team wrapped up with a bronze medal in the men’s 800m freestyle relay, courtesy of Israel Seleakpobo and another in women’s 400m freestyle.
