Terrorists invade Kebbi, kill 12 including police inspector

Terrorists, suspected to belong to the Lakurawa group, on Wednesday killed a police inspector and seven civilians in separate attacks on villages in Koko/Besse council area of Kebbi.
The police spokesperson in Kebbi, Bashir Usman, confirmed the attacks to Peoples Gazette on Friday, saying they occurred in different villages on separate days.
Mr Usman said seven civilians and a police inspector were killed during an attack on Wednesday, when the officer was responding to a distress call.
“But on that Wednesday, it was seven persons killed along with one police inspector who went to respond to the attack in Wawilaiyi and Kystu villages”, he told The Gazette.
He stated that three other persons were killed in Samanaji village on Thursday, adding that the terrorists suffered casualties during a gunfight with security operatives.
“It was during the exchange of fire that we lost one police inspector,” Mr Usman said.
