Those who rob Africans of their resources invest profit in weapons: Pope

The head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of Vatican City, Pope Leo XIV, says that those who robbed Africans of their resources invest the profits in weapons.
The Pope made the remarks during his visit to Cameroon on Thursday, blaming global leaders for turning a blind eye to the billions of dollars spent on war, killing and devastation.
He said the resources needed for healing, education and restoration were nowhere to be found.
“Those who rob your land of its resources generally invest much of the profit in weapons, thus perpetuating an endless cycle of destabilisation and death.
“The masters of war pretend not to know that it takes only a moment to destroy, yet often a lifetime is not enough to rebuild,” the Pope said.
The Pope also condemned the endless cycle of destabilisation and death in a bloodstained region of Cameroon gripped by insurgency for nearly a decade.
This is coming amid his public disagreement with Donald Trump particularly on issues such as immigration and border policies.
