Three dogs, owner arrested over killing of security man in Lagos

A resident in the Lekki area of Lagos State, Salisu Mustapha, was on Tuesday, arrested after his three dogs allegedly killed a security man.
The state police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said in a statement (https://x.com/LagosPoliceNG/status/1854104700699677182) on Wednesday that the dogs are already in their custody.
“Following the unfortunate mauling of a security man to death by three dogs in Pinnock Estate, Ilasan, Lekki on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested the owner of the dogs, Salisu Mustapha,” Mr Hundeyin said.
He added that the police have also “confiscated the dogs pending the outcome of discreet investigations that have since commenced.”
A viral video showed the security man lying on the ground in the estate with three dogs roaming around his lifeless body.
The command’s police spokesperson said the Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola, assured residents of the state, particularly the estate, that the investigat
ion would be concluded and justice appropriately served.
