Three suspects arraigned over $100,000 fraud
The police have arraigned three suspects before the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, on allegations of criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, and obtaining by false pretences involving $100,000.
The suspects are George Ali, Anthony Ali and Simon Ali, according to a statement on Thursday by the force spokesperson, Ani Iniedu.
He explained that a preliminary investigation revealed the complainant allegedly transferred $100,000 to the suspects in 2009 to purchase and ship auto spare parts from the United States of America.
Mr Iniedu alleged that the transaction was not carried out as agreed and that the funds were subsequently diverted.
“Following investigation by operatives of INTERPOL NCB Abuja, the suspects were arraigned before the Federal High Court, Court 6, Maitama, Abuja. The matter was subsequently adjourned to 3rd December 2026 for further hearing,” he noted.
