Tinubu, Atiku, others condole with Obaigbena over mother’s demise
Presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu have extended their sympathies to Nduka Obaigbena, publisher of ThisDay Newspapers and his family over the passing of their mother Princess Obaigbena.
Late Ms Obaigbena was described by Mr Atiku as a great contributor to the health sector of the defunct Bendel State, who also served as Special Adviser on Health to three different former governors of Delta State.
“Princess Obaigbena was a visible player in the health sector in the defunct Bendel State and eventually transferred her services to Delta State at the creation of the state. She meritoriously served three former governors of Delta State as Special Adviser on Health.
“On behalf of my family, I wish to convey my deepest condolences to the Obaigbena family of the Owa kingdom of Delta State. May her soul Rest In Peace,” Mr Atiku tweeted.
Mr Tinubu said Ms Obaigbena also contributed to the development of Nigeria and Delta state.
“Princess Obaigbena made her mark as a nurse of great standing, rising to the zenith as Chief Nursing Officer of the defunct Bendel State Government and later Delta State Government.
“While recording significant milestones on the job, she also made important contributions to the development of Nigeria and Delta State. Princess Obaigbena would be remembered for her service to mankind through her care for the sick and distressed,” Mr Tinubu said.
Former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki and incumbent Ahmed Lawan have also joined voices in the hailing of Ms Obaigbena’s life, with all praying rest for her soul.
