Tinubu congratulates customs boss Adeniyi on 60th birthday

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Adewale Adeniyi, on his 60th birthday.
The President hailed Mr Adeniyi’s reform initiatives, describing them as transformative for the service.
This is contained in a statement issued by presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday in Abuja.
Mr Tinubu rejoiced with the comptroller-general, on the milestone marked by decades of dedicated national service, discipline and commitment to excellence.
The President noted that under Mr Adeniyi’s leadership, the NCS had undergone landmark reforms that repositioned the service for efficient and professional delivery.
He said that the reforms have improved revenue generation, strengthened community relations and enhanced Nigeria’s trade engagement with other countries.
Mr Tinubu observed that Mr Adeniyi’s stewardship has placed the NCS on the path of global competitiveness and institutional credibility.
The President also recalled that Mr Adeniyi’s achievements culminated in his election as Chairman of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) in June 2025.
He commended the comptroller-general for positively projecting Nigeria and Africa on the global stage through inclusive, practical and charismatic leadership.
Mr Tinubu said that Mr Adeniyi’s emergence at the WCO, underscores international recognition of his competence and reform-driven agenda.
As the customs chief marks his 60th birthday, the President prayed for renewed strength, good health and wisdom.
He urged Mr Adeniyi to sustain his commitment to service and national development in the years ahead. (NAN)
