Tinubu felicitates Oba of Benin on ninth anniversary

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, on the ninth anniversary of his ascension to the throne.
In a statement issued by presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday in Abuja, Mr Tinubu praised the Oba’s enduring service to Benin and the nation at large.
The president joined the government and people of Edo, the royal family, and the traditional council in celebrating the milestone of nearly a decade of impactful leadership.
He commended the Oba’s dedication to fostering peace, unity, and social harmony, especially his efforts in tackling human trafficking and illegal migration among the youth.
Tinubu also lauded the traditional ruler’s cultural advocacy, including his push for the return of African artefacts and the preservation of traditional values.
Marking the Oba’s nine years on the throne, Mr Tinubu hailed his unwavering commitment to safeguarding Benin’s rich heritage for future generations.
The president prayed for the Oba’s continued good health, long life, and even greater accomplishments on the historic throne.
