Tinubu, governors urged to promote peace, stable economy in 2026
A Muslim cleric, Isiak Aderibigbe, has urged Nigerian leaders to prioritise peace in the nation and ensure economic stability in 2026.
In an interview with journalists in Lagos on Friday, Mr Aderibigbe stressed that all leaders—political, community, traditional, and religious—play critical roles in influencing economic development and ensuring national stability.
Mr Aderibigbe said that peaceful coexistence among citizens remained the foundation for meaningful growth.
“Insecurity and social tension often discourage investment and slow down development,” he said.
The cleric said that leaders at all levels must lead by example through transparent governance, justice, and inclusive policies that would address the needs of the people, particularly youths and vulnerable groups.
The cleric urged religious and traditional leaders to intensify prayers and moral guidance and to advocate for unity to foster peace and stability.
According to him, collective responsibility and sincere leadership will reposition the nation for economic recovery and sustainable progress in the new year.
