Tinubu hails NRS boss Adedeji for revenue reforms

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Zacch Adedeji, the chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), on his birthday, commending his leadership and revenue reforms.
In a statement on Thursday by presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the president praised Mr Adedejiâs leadership of the 83-year-old agency. He cited innovation, automation, global best practices, and staff upskilling as drivers of improved revenue performance.
âI salute the NRS chairman for his visionary and disciplined leadership in restructuring and aligning Nigeriaâs revenue architecture,â the president said.
He stated that the service met its budget targets by the third quarter of 2025, strengthening economic stability and growth.
âZacch Adedeji has been instrumental in deploying the National Single Window, cutting cargo clearance time from 21 days to one week,â Mr Tinubu said.
He said the platform had enhanced transparency and efficiency in import and export processes.
Mr Adedeji previously served in Procter and Gambleâs management team and as a commissioner for finance in Oyo State.
He was also the executive secretary of the National Sugar Development Council, where he established the National Sugar Institute.
Mr Adedeji later served as the special adviser to the president on revenue before his appointment as NRS chairman in September 2023.
The president prayed that God grant Mr Adedeji good health, wisdom, and strength to continue serving the nation.
