The All Progressives Stakeholders Forum has appealed to President Bola Tinubu not to approve the removal of members of the current National Working Committee before the party’s national convention.

Maryam Danjaki, the forum’s national president, made the appeal in an open letter to Mr Tinubu on Tuesday.

The forum said that the appeal was to ensure the party’s stability ahead of its convention.

The APC national convention is expected to be held in early 2026.

“With deep respect and patriotic concern, we write to commend your leadership and to share our candid views on matters vital to the unity and progress of our great party. As committed party loyalists who have laboured at all levels to uphold the values and vision of the APC.

“We feel compelled to humbly advise against any sudden alteration or removal of members of the current APC NWC before its next national convention. At this critical stage in your administration and in the life of the party, any reshuffling or tampering with the current leadership may ignite internal unrest,” Ms Danjaki said.

She added that such a move would also weaken party cohesion and give political opportunists and power scavengers the room to exploit the situation to the party’s detriment.

According to her, the party’s current NWC has shown considerable stability and continuity.

She expressed optimism that allowing its members till the convention would strengthen internal trust and give the Tinubu-led administration the needed backing to deliver on its renewed hope agenda without distractions.

She stressed that this was not a time for division or uncertainty but a time for consolidation, harmony, and focus in governance and within the party structure.

Ms Danjaki further appealed to Mr Tinubu, as the father of the APC and a symbol of unity, to allow the current NWC leadership to continue its role until the next convention.

She added that, where necessary, changes could be addressed democratically and strategically.

She said the forum remained steadfast in its support for the Tinubu-led administration and would continue to advocate for a party that was stable, inclusive, and forward-looking.

She prayed to God to grant Mr Tinubu continued strength and wisdom as he led the nation to greatness.

She condoled with the APC family and the entire nation on the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

She described the late Mr Buhari as a statesman whose disciplined leadership, integrity, and patriotism laid the foundation upon which the APC grew into a national force.

The forum’s national president added that the legacy of the former president would remain a guiding light for generations to come.
