Tinubu urges security agencies to hunt killers of Arise TV anchor

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of a news anchor with Arise Television News, Somtochukwu Maduagwu,killed during a robbery at her residence in Abuja.
This is contained in a statement by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja.
Mr Tinubu extended heartfelt condolences to the Maduagwu’s family, Arise News management, and the entire Nigerian media community.
He said, “Maduagwu was a promising professional journalist whose life was cut short in a cruel and condemnable manner. Security and law enforcement agencies should conduct a quick and thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice without delay.”
Mr Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration remained committed to protecting lives and property, and would intensify efforts to combat all forms of crime across the country.
Twenty-nine-year-old Ms Maduagwu was killed early Monday during a robbery at her residence in Katampe, Abuja. The incident is currently under investigation by the police.
