‎Tinubu urges security agencies to hunt killers of Arise TV anchor ‎

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of a news anchor with Arise Television News, Somtochukwu Maduagwu,killed during a robbery at her residence in Abuja.

‎This is contained in a statement by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja.

‎Mr Tinubu extended heartfelt condolences to the Maduagwu’s family, Arise News management, and the entire Nigerian media community.

‎He said, “Maduagwu was a promising professional journalist whose life was cut short in a cruel and condemnable manner. Security and law enforcement agencies should conduct a quick and thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice without delay.”

‎Mr Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration remained  committed to protecting lives and property, and would intensify efforts to combat all forms of crime across the country.

‎Twenty-nine-year-old Ms Maduagwu was killed early Monday during a robbery at her residence in Katampe, Abuja. The incident is currently under investigation by the police.
