Tinubu’s aide Sunday Dare donates N50,000 each to freed Oyo schoolchildren

Sunday Dare, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on media and public communications, has donated N50,000 each to 25 rescued schoolchildren from the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The 25 pupils were said to be those discharged from the hospital and reunited with their families, while the remaining 14 pupils would receive the same amount each after medical clearance.Â
Mr Dare announced the donation during his visit to the families of the rescued schoolchildren in Ibadan on Tuesday.
The donation came as some of the children reunited with their families after receiving medical treatment following their rescue last Friday.
The reunion brought tears of joy and relief as parents embraced their children while appreciating the government and the security agencies involved in their rescue.
The released pupils and teachers were received by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde at the government house in Ibadan before they were handed over to their families.
Terrorists abducted the victims from three schools in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on May 15.
The development triggered massive protests from the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and some human rights groups, who called on Messrs Makinde and Tinubu to ensure their immediate and safe rescue.
The victims were released on Friday after spending 56 days in captivity.
Meanwhile, Mr Makinde, in a recent broadcast, called on international bodies, including the United Nations, to investigate the abduction, identify lapses that occurred during the incident, and prevent a recurrence.
