The chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa, Warman Ogoriba, has dismissed the Rainbow Coalition as irrelevant.

In a statement on Friday, Mr Ogoriba said the APC had the numbers, structure, organisation and grassroots support needed to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu and all officially nominated APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

He said the party remained focused, united and firmly rooted at the grassroots across the state. He said the party had established structures across the eight council areas and political wards of Bayelsa.

Mr Ogoriba said the APC would not be distracted by political alliances outside its established structures, adding that the party would continue to consolidate its membership base and strengthen internal unity.

He said the party would also deepen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.

“The task before the party is to remain organised, disciplined and committed to the collective objective of advancing the APC and supporting its candidates at all levels. We are confident that the combination of the party’s existing structures, committed members, stakeholders and grassroots networks would provide the foundation for a strong electoral campaign in 2027,” he said.

Mr Ogoriba urged APC members and supporters across Bayelsa to remain united and focused as the party prepares for the elections.

He assured members that the party leadership would continue engaging stakeholders and mobilising support across communities in the state.

The chairman reiterated the Bayelsa APC leadership’s commitment to strengthening the party’s structures and working collectively towards the success of Mr Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

He said the party would remain focused on its organisational structures and grassroots engagement as preparations for the elections intensified.

The Rainbow Coalition is a multi-party political arrangement, created by FCT minister Nyesom Wike to support Mr Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
