Too late for Peter Obi to return to Labour Party: Nenadi Usman

It will be too late for former presidential candidate Peter Obi to return to the Labour Party, says its national chair, Nenadi Usman.
Mr Obi ran for president in 2023 on the platform of th party.
In an interview on ARISE TV on Wednesday, Ms Usman said, “Well, it will be too late actually for him to come back because if you look at the act now, at some point we close the register.
“Once we close the register 21 days before primaries, submit the e-register to INEC, you can’t come from behind the door for us to register you and for you to contest it. That would be impossible, legally impossible anyway.”
When asked if Mr Obi added value to the party in the 2023 election, Ms Usman said, “Even me, he convinced me to come with him to the Labour Party; convinced me and not just me. Many people who are in Labour Party today were convinced by him.
“We believe that PDP should have zoned the seat to the South but since they left it open and said there was no zoning and a northerner was trying to field a northerner, we felt no, it was not fair.
