As the world marks World Gorilla Day 2025, Wild Africa has called for urgent action to protect Nigeria’s last surviving 100 Cross River gorillas.
He said the federal government allocated 12,000 bags of NPK fertilisers to the state at a subsidised rate of N33,000 per bag.
The training brought beneficiaries from the 18 local government areas of the state.

“Governor Namadi has ordered that free seedlings should be planted, free watering materials and free mentorship be offered to the trained youths,” he said.
Mr Olaleye said that the training would be held simultaneously in two other zones, Oke-Ogun and Oyo-Ogbomoso.
The commissioner explained that the policy would discourage the practice of farmers planting grains instead of certified seeds.
Mr Iyiola applauded the Renewed Hope Initiative of Mr Tinubu for revamping the policy.
The projects aim to enhance livestock productivity and mitigate farmer-herder conflicts.
The lawmaker, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said the support aims to improve farmers’ productivity and efficiency.
