President Bola Tinubu has authorised the disbursement of the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund (CVFF) to unlock funding for indigenous shipowners.
Stakeholders said reviving the moribund companies would help move the states from civil-service dependence to thriving industrial hubs.
“Now, the agriculture sector is beckoning the youths. We are rebranding the sector,” the minister said.

Mr Nwosu appealed to the federal government to prioritise payment of verified debts owed to indigenous contractors to ease their financial difficulties.
Mr Enikanolaiye described the ETLS as a cornerstone of regional trade integration and free trade.
The sustained rally further strengthened the year-to-date return to 58.72 per cent.
Ms Sualihat urged members to move beyond discussions to concrete actions.
