Governor Alex Otti has constituted a committee to recover 180 alienated and encumbered public schools in Abia.
He added that the fund would also ensure the timely disbursement of stipends for day-to-day expenses.

JUPEB had earlier announced the postponement of its 2024 examination earlier scheduled to run from Aug. 5 to Aug. 16.
NELFUND has released the list of six institutions that have received its disbursement of N2,026,163,340 as institutional fees.
“They must undergo the one-year IT with evidence of completion before going for HND, and institutions must confirm this before admitting them for HND,”
Mr Ayitogo said that the fund disbursement reflected the federal government’s commitment to the overall well-being and academic success of Nigerian students in government institutions.
“This examination, therefore, will now take place from Aug. 19 and end on Friday, Aug. 30,” Mr Adeleke said.
The protest was by some students and staff of the college.
Mr Akinwale said that the polytechnic management had held various meetings on the matter.
