The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics has suspended its planned nationwide strike following positive steps taken by the federal government to address the union’s demands.
This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday following the recent state committee meeting of WAEC, held under the Ministry’s supervision.
On Sunday, university teachers declared a two-week warning strike.
“The warning strike shall be total and comprehensive as agreed at the last NEC meeting,” ASUU declared.
Kelvin Philip, a 27-year-old graphics designer and software developer, noted that reading digitally helps to reduce the burden of carrying books around.
Mr Dada noted that investing in teacher’s capacity would sustain educational access in hard-to-reach and insecure areas.
The chief executive of the centre, Promise Mebine, said this during a meeting of its governing council, according to a statement on Friday.
He said UBEC had distributed over 800 interactive smart boards to basic education schools nationwide.
According to him, the programme is scheduled to begin on October 12.
The extension, she said, was intended to ensure that all eligible students were duly captured.
