The committee was constituted by the Kogi government through the office of the Public Defender and Citizens Rights Commission.

Panel chairperson Doris Okuwobi said at a session: “We cannot force them to come. We will take on the petitions as if they are not present.
“We also conducted a vaginal swab and discovered that she was sexually assaulted. Her possible cause of death is lack of oxygen,” an autopsy specialist told the panel.
