Mr Obi said Easter also strongly indicates that Nigerians will surmount the existing challenges.
Daniel Okoh, president of CAN, called on citizens to embody the spirit of Easter in their daily lives and practice sacrificial love toward one another.
He said the board registered a low turnout of intending pilgrims for the 2024 exercise due to the high cost of Hajj fares.
“I urge us all in this solemn period to commit to prayers for the development and prosperity of our dear country.”
“In the spirit of Easter, let us resurrect from our sins.”
Mr Adebayo said fasting is an opportunity for everyone to scale up their spirituality.
“The door is open for those who want to pay for a fresh hajj seat. They should go ahead and pay N8,255,000.’’
“I invite Nigerians to join me in prayer for the souls of our fallen heroes and for strength for their grieving families.’’
“Those awarded Hajj slots by the state government would also benefit,” he said.
The Catholic Church does not encourage extreme acts of faith but does little to stop the practice.
