The cleric said the country needs drastic changes in its agricultural policy to address food insecurity.
“You know, I believe in social development and social investment for people who truly need it,” said the first lady.
Governor Nasir Idris has begun the distribution of over 200 trucks of assorted grains to residents as Ramadan palliatives.
Mrs Nasir-Idris said the effort was meant to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship.
According to Mr Fintiri, the new directive, coinciding with the Ramadan fasting period, takes immediate effect.
The cleric added that though other cultures came with their form of fasting, Ramadan fasting was unique as Allah prescribed it.
The monarch was survived by wives, children and grandchildren.
The cleric spoke to journalists in Lagos on Thursday against the backdrop of some Muslims who were caught eating when they should be fasting.
As Muslims observe the Ramadan (fasting) period, the Kebbi government has opened 69 feeding centres across the 21 LGAs.
The Jigawa government has approved N2.8 billion to feed the needy and vulnerable people in the state during Ramadan.
