“Hepatitis is the inflammation of the liver, with variants A, B, C, D, and E. The most dangerous among them are the B and C variants,” he explained.
The federal government has called for enhanced collaboration, private sector investment, and financially sound proposals to boost blood services nationwide.

“We are joining the strike because it is the directive of the national body. There is no demand we have made that the governor has not approved,” he said.
Ms Faminu, who expressed concern about the patients, said it was not nurses’ intention to abandon them.
“The strike is scheduled to commence at midnight on Wednesday, July 30, and will run through August 5, 2025,” the statement said.
The spokesman, however, said complaints have been received from some healthcare providers concerning non-remittance of their payments by some of the HMOs.
Autopsies conducted showed that 13.6 per cent of deaths were sudden deaths, and eight of 29 cases of sudden deaths reached the hospital.
The Commissioner for Health, Musa Adamu, said the priority was to safeguard the health and well-being of the people.
