The Lagos government says it has taken stronger measures to combat illegal dredging and coastal degradation across its 187km coastline.
ASWOL made the call for inclusion on Friday to mark World Environment Day 2026.
The national president of AWAMN, Olugbenga Adebola, made the commendation in an interview on Friday in Lagos.

“We have taken these concerns seriously and immediately engaged the relevant security agencies,” said the Ibeju-Lekki council chairman.
He said the state was committed to delivering strategic transport infrastructure.
