Nigeria Civil Security and Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,500 personnel in Plateau ahead of the Christmas and New Year.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang has commiserated with victims of a tanker crash at Mararaban Jama’a, Kuru district of Jos South LGA.
Beneficiaries would get N25,000 per month for three months.
“I look forward to the day that we will rise as Plateau citizens and pursue the purpose of God in this land, and I believe we can do it,” he said.
Mr Longsan said the accident occurred at about 4:00 p.m., adding that the tanker fell crossing the highway and blocking both lanes.
Residents who spoke with journalists said they would be mindful of their budgets at yuletide.
Mr Ishaya said that the university was putting facilities on the ground to host what would be one of the best NUGA games in history.
The governor said successive administrations did not give adequate attention to the welfare of retirees.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the Plateau Penal Code.
“There is nowhere you have violent conflicts in Plateau that it will not be linked to ‘goskolo’ or drug abuse,” said an NGO coordinator, Beji Jibe.
