Victor Osimhen will captain Nigeria’s Super Eagles against hosts Morocco in the AFCON 2025 semi-final, replacing suspended skipper Wilfred Ndidi.
Born on September 11, 1987, in Accra, Ghana, Mr Laryea is a former player and goalkeeper of Accra Academy.
The 29-year-old player attributed the progress to the brotherhood bond the players had established.
Mr Regragui stated, “People have tried to undermine our efforts. I speak to my players the only way we can shut down that is to continue to show our best on the pitch.”
Mr Laryea will officiate the game scheduled to be played in Rabat on Wednesday, CAF announced on Tuesday in a post on social media.
“If football is by prayer and fasting” Nigeria would have won the World Cup, said the director of PL Football Academy.
Mr Regragui stated that the risk of getting sacked by federations is the reality of coaches on the job.
“Every game is the biggest for the team (Super Eagles) in the tournament. We are ready for all of the games in this tournament,” said Chelle.
Head-to-head across all competitions also favoured Morocco, but this time very heavily. Both teams have faced each other 11 times, with Morocco winning six and Nigeria three.
The Super Eagles have a shot conversion rate of 21 per cent, the best at the tournament.
