Wolverhampton Wanderers have been relegated from England’s top flight, following a goalless draw between Crystal Palace and West Ham United that confirmed their fate at the bottom of the table.

Wolves’ 2025/26 season came to an end after a turbulent campaign.

The side spent over 30 consecutive matches at the bottom of the league standings, conceding more than 60 goals while scoring just 24.

The West Midlands side struggled through their season, taking 20 matches to secure their first league win in January, recording 22 losses, eight draws, and just three wins.

It was a difficult season throughout, despite a change in leadership.

Vítor Pereira began the season as head coach but was sacked in November following poor results and recruitment errors, and former Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards was appointed as his successor.

Pereira later joined Nottingham Forest, replacing Sean Dyche after a run of inconsistent results.

Wolves had survived relegation last season under Pereira, but the club was hit by the loss of key players through big-money sales, including Rayan Aït-Nouri, Matheus Cunha, and Nélson Semedo.

The club returned to the top flight in the 2018/19 season after winning the EFL Championship in 2017/18.

After promotion, they finished seventh, reached the FA Cup semi-finals and qualified for the Europa League.

In 2019/20, they finished seventh again and reached the Europa League quarter-finals.

Tottenham Hotspur are also in the relegation zone on 32 points, while Burnley sit just above the drop and remain in danger of joining them in the Championship.
