TRACE cautions motorists against indiscriminate parking in Ogun

The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps has cautioned drivers against indiscriminate parking on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
Salau Hammed, Ota divisional commander of TRACE, gave the advice on Tuesday in Ota.
Mr Hammed said the caution was necessary to avoid crashes on the axis, noting that any vehicle could experience a mechanical fault at any time and ram into a vehicle parked indiscriminately on the expressway.
The TRACE commander said the advice was to prevent unnecessary loss of life due to ongoing construction work on the toll-gate axis.
He urged motorists, especially commercial drivers, to exercise patience and reduce speed as they approached the area, as the road had been diverted to one-way traffic.
“We are appealing to motorists to cooperate with TRACE personnel and other sister agencies towards ensuring sanity along the toll-gate, where the construction works are ongoing,” he said.
Mr Hammed said Elias Omonayajo, the most senior, had given a directive to the Ota command to deploy its personnel to the toll-gate area to control and ensure the safety of lives and property.
He also ordered the command to hold regular meetings with transport union leaders to highlight the importance of obeying traffic rules and regulations.
