Tricycle theft ring busted, eight keke recovered: Police

The police command in Kano has arrested a three-man syndicate and recovered eight stolen tricycles.
This was disclosed in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, in Kano on Wednesday.
Mr Kiyawa said police intercepted Abubakar Sidi riding a stolen tricycle on Airport Road, Kano, on March 26.
He explained that the suspect failed to provide proof of ownership, which led to his transfer to CID.
The spokesperson said that investigations revealed he stole the vehicle at Emir Palace Road and sold others in Jigawa.
He explained that two accomplices had been arrested and that seven tricycles had been recovered.
“The police appeal to tricycle operators to be vigilant and report suspicious activities. Those whose tricycles were stolen should contact the spokesperson`s Office or IPO on 07010161372,“ he said.
He said the police commissioner, Ibrahim Bakori, praised the police team and assured continued efforts to combat crime.
