Troops capture bandits’ logistics suppliers in Benue
Troops of Whirl Stroke have arrested two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and two suspected armed robbers in separate operations in Benue.
In a statement on Wednesday, Ahmad Zubairu, the operation’s spokesman, said the troops acted on intelligence and found two suspected bandits’ logistics suppliers in the Abaji community on Wednesday.
The suspects allegedly provided logistical support to a bandit kingpin operating across River Yooyo in Katsina-Ala council area.
The suspects are Tertser Terngu, 24, and Aondongu Tersoo, 15, both from Tersoo.
Mr Zubairu said at about 2:16 p.m. on Wednesday, troops on a fighting patrol received information about an armed robbery at Jootar Village along the Kyado–Wukari Road in Ukum LGA.
“Troops promptly mobilised to the scene, where operatives of the Volunteer Guards had already apprehended two suspected armed robbers before the troops arrived,” he said.
He added that recovered items included a pistol, seven rounds of 7.62mm PKT ammunition and a pair of scissors.
