Troops kill Lakurawa fighters, recover five motorcycles in Sokoto operation

Troops of Fansan Yamma have killed several Lakurawa terrorists and recovered five motorcycles in Waria Forest, Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The spokesperson for the operation, Aliyu Danja, announced the development in a statement on Thursday, saying troops overran the terrorists’ enclave on Thursday.
He stated that troops advanced through identified terrorists’ enclaves along Alela, Bilange and Kandam villages towards Waria Forest and made contact with the terrorists.
Mr Danja stated, “During the firefight, troops dominated the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon their positions and flee deeper into the forest.
“Troops subsequently pursued the fleeing terrorists, neutralising some of them in the process.”
He explained that further exploitation of the area led to the destruction of the terrorists’ camps and life-support structures, including the recovery of weapons and five motorcycles.
