Troops of Fansan Yamma have arrested suspected terrorist collaborators, intercepted weapons and ammunition and also destroyed terrorist enclaves in operations across Kaduna, and Katsina States.

In a statement on Friday by Aliyu Danja, the spokesman for the operation, the separate incidents occurred on Thursday and Friday.

“On 27 August 2026, troops of Sector 1 acted on information regarding the apprehension of a suspected terrorist collaborator in Kaduna State.

“The suspect was found in possession of 2 locally fabricated guns and 13 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag,” he said.

He stated that during preliminary investigation, the suspect disclosed that he had been tasked to deliver the weapons and ammunition to another individual.

Mr Danja noted, “Acting on the information from the suspect, troops swiftly conducted a follow-up operation and apprehended 2 additional suspects connected with the movement of the weapons.”

According to him, the three suspects, along with the recovered weapons, ammunition and other items, are currently undergoing further investigation.

In a separate operation on Friday along with other security agencies, Mr Danja said troops conducted a clearance operation against identified terrorist enclaves around Maharba and Karaduwa in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.

“Troops successfully cleared and destroyed the enclaves and other structures used by the terrorists to support their criminal activities.

“During the operation, troops also cleared and destroyed an enclave linked to notorious terrorist leader Kachalla Muhammadu Filani, whose group has been terrorizing innocent civilians in Matazu and Musawa Local Government Areas,” he noted.

He narrated that the terrorist leader narrowly escaped as troops advanced towards the enclave.

Items recovered included RPG-7 tube, a motorcycle, mobile phones and other items.
