President Donald Trump on Tuesday launched an A.I.-powered website called America.gov where Americans can ask questions about federal government’s programmes, services and benefits. 

“You’ll now have one front door for every single question,” Mr Trump said in his speech at the America.gov launch event on Tuesday. “A digital home built around your time, your life.”

Lauding the project, Mr Trump said “With America.gov, the entire government will fit in the palm of your hand.  Everything will be answered easily and quickly.”

While the roll out scheduled for next year, the A.I powered website is live, serving some basic functions since its launch on Tuesday.

Engaging the America.gov A.I. powered website, it described itself as “government information assistant.”

“I explain federal services, requirements, and the steps you can take, with citations to official sources,” it said. 

It added, “Ask about a benefit, form, or program. I search official government information and point you to the agency that handles applications and eligibility.”
