President Donald Trump has berated the U.S. Supreme Court after justices rejected his administration’s restrictions on mail-in voting initiative.

Mr Trump, in a statement on Tuesday, said, “Republicans just got another bad decision from the United States Supreme Court, one that the court system took forever to give, and then blamed it, in part, on no time left to implement a solution to our totally corrupt and out of control mail-in voting ‘disaster,’ which is a laughing stock all over the World, and where we are the only country that has to endure such a nation-destroying scam.”

The court on Monday rejected the Trump administration’s request to stay the implementation of a universal injunction against new mail-in ballot rules from the U.S. Postal Service.

The rules would require federal ballot mail to be sent in envelopes bearing an election-mail logo, which could be scanned by high-speed equipment to read a barcode unique to each voter.

They would also require state and local election officials to submit envelope designs to the postal service for review and upload basic voter information to an online USPS portal.

“The government is unlikely to succeed on the merits of its challenge to the district court’s preliminary injunction. And the equitable factors applicable for obtaining emergency relief from this court do not favour a stay,” the one-paragraph unsigned order read.

Mr Trump, who expressed fury over the judgement, added, “It is a big loss for Republicans, and America itself, and makes cheating by the Radical Left ‘Dumocrats,’ on Mail-In Ballots, a much easier thing to do – And now they have an open field to do so!”

The U.S. president further berated the apex court for striking down his tariff policies, his executive order ending birthright citizenship and many others.

“It is not easy for me to write this criticism of the United States Supreme Court – it will likely cost me dearly for years to come – but I feel it is my obligation and duty, as President, to do so for the America we love!,” he added.

The apex court’s decision comes as the U.S. prepare for the midterm elections in November.
