Trump supporter Charlie Kirk dies after shooting
Charlie Kirk, an activist and President Donald Trump ally, famous for holding debates on campuses in America, is dead.
Mr Kirk, 31, died a few hours after he was shot at a campus event in Utah on Wednesday.
Mr Trump announced the demise of Mr. Kirk in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday, shortly after he was shot.
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” Mr Trump said.
Eulogising Mr Kirk, the American president said, “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
Video of Mr Kirk being shot in the neck went viral on social media moments after the incident.
According to the police, Mr Kirk’s shooter has been arrested and is in custody.
